Finding rogue costs

However good you are at finding erroneous costs and putting them right, you cannot hope to capture all errors, and the only way to adequately increase accuracy without throwing an army of people at the problem is to create the controls, conditions and culture for getting it right in the first place.

Controls: Do your systems and processes limit the opportunities for people to get things wrong?

Conditions: Are you creating the right conditions for accuracy? Are the right people performing the task? Are they trained? Do they have the right information?

Culture: Does your organisation prioritise accuracy? Is there a blame culture blocking your ability to acknowledge and fix failure without it being anyone's fault? Is there a recognition of the consequences on the customer and organisation's purpose for getting it wrong?

Now, I love a good service charge, but even I wouldn't watch this movie 🥱
